St Peter & Emmaus Church

Is there homework?

None that we’ll be marking! But kids are encouraged to go home and think about things they have been talking about in Sunday School, talk to their family about it, and apply it to their own lives.

Sunday School

How does it work?

Sunday School meets during school term time at the 9.30am service.Instead of coming into the service straight away, kids start in the Sunday School room (which is just down the corridor from the chapel). They get to listen to stories, sing and join in all sorts of activities. These activities suit a wide age range and are designed to help kids understand the love of God for them. Everyone participating in Sunday School then joins in with the regular service. This way the whole congregation gets to hear about what has been happening in Sunday School and Sunday School gets to participate in the last parts of the service. Awesome!

Who runs it?

Our Sunday School is run by volunteers with a special interest in helping kids. Many of the volunteers are parents or grandparents who have a good understanding of how kids operate. All activities are based around a bible story and are specially tailored to meet the needs of the kids in our Sunday School. All volunteers who work with children in our church have Working with Children Checks, Police clearances for volunteers and have completed Safe Church training with either the Anglican Church or the Uniting Church.
